👉 5G Auction Postponed in INDIA - DOT

The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) is not in favour of conducting auctions for 5G spectrum services in this financial year as the telcos may not have the capacity to fund the purchase of new spectrum, said senior officials in the DOT.

The 5G Spectrum auction was expected to take place in the last quarter of CY2021. But now, the government might push it to the first quarter in 2022. The delay in the auction's timeline is because of the ongoing pandemic in the country. The government will also be putting the coveted 700MHz spectrum in the auction, and it is expected to come with a lower reserve price. The Department Of Telecommunications (DOT) might likely push the 5G auctions to the first quarter of 2022, i.e., after April.

DOT further needs to release an updated National Frequency Allocation policy (NFAP) detailing the frequency bands that the telcos can use for rolling out 5G in India. Thus, the Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India(TRAI) to decide the reserve price for the new frequency band if any. The telcos want the government to offer the E-Band(71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz) and V band (57-65 GHz) on the auctions so that lightning 5G speeds cab be delivered and also so that affordable rollout of 5G in the country if possible.

👉Foxconn iPhone India outputs drop 50% amid COVID Surge
The Foxconn facility in the southern state of Tamil Nadu produces specifically for India, the world's no.2 smartphone market.

Tamil Nadu is one of the worst-hit states in the second coronavirus wave engulfing India. officials imposed a full lockdown in the states from Monday, closing public transport and shuttering shops, to try to slow surging infections. More than 100 Foxconn employees in the states have tested positive for COVID-19 and the company has enforced a no-entry ban at its factory in the capital of Chennai until late May, one of the sources said. "Foxconn places the health and safety of our employees as our highest priority and that is why we have been working closely with local government and publish health authorities in India to address the challenges that we and all companies are facing in dealing with the COVID-19 crisis", it said in a statement to Reuters.

While Apple's share of the budget phone-dominated Indian market is small, CEO Tim Cook said in January that India's business doubled in the December quarter compared to the previous year, helped by an online store launch. Foxconn is not the only producer affected. Nokia and Chinese smartphone maker OPPO last year suspended production at factories in India after workers tested positive for COVID-19. Taipei-based tech research firm Trendforce on Monday trimmed its global smartphone production growth forecast to 8.55% from 9.4%, citing the coronavirus impact in India on major vendors including Samsung and Apple.

Battlegrounds Mobile India has now posted a teaser about the Sanhok map via a poster on the company's official Facebook page. The map was originally part of PUBG Mobile.

The map is relatively small when compared to the original Erangel and Miramar maps, but bigger than some other recent maps like Livik. Battlegrounds Mobile India will be up for pre-registration before it launches for the masses in MAY-18. The privacy policy for the game will require players under the age of 18 to get their parent's consent. players below 18 years of age will need to register for the game with a phone number that belongs to their parents or guardian.
